Protect Yourself From Tech Support Scams
Tech support scams are an industry-wide issue where scammers trick you into paying for unnecessary
technical support services. You can help protect yourself from scammers by verifying that the contact is a
Microsoft Agent or
Microsoft Employee and that the phone number is an
official
Microsoft global customer service number.
I use some older productivity programs in my office that only run on XP. I bought a new computer with Windows 7 Professional and downloaded and installed XP Mode and Virtual PC. This is working fine, but I cannot connect to my network in XP mode. I can
connect in Windows 7 mode and see and connect to all the other computers (all XP) on my network, but I can't connect in XP Mode. Help.
Configure the virtual PC to use the host PC's network adapter:
1. Shut down the virtual PC.
2. Click Start > All programs > Windows Virtual PC >
Windows Virtual PC .
3. Right-click Windows XP Mode.vmcx and click Settings .
4. Click Networking .
5. Set Adapter 1 to the host PC's network adapter.
6. Click OK .
Then start the virtual PC.
