Windows 7 - Unidentified Network (No Internet Access)

Hi all,

I currently built a desktop computer using this motherboard: GA-H55M-S2H
After installing windows and installed the motherboard CD-Rom drivers, I attempt to connect to the internet but failed. The connection is used to test on Windows XP and it worked.

There are some things I tried but failed too:

Disable and enable the adapter.

go to services.msc and disabled Id_String1.6844f930_1628_4223_b5cc_5bb94b879762

ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
Anyone one give me an idea?

Answer

Hi

Thanks for the reply.

There is no problem with the device drivers. The device manager displayed okay.

The IP v4 properties is also showing correct values.

I have called up starhub and they solved the problem for me:

Solution:
The problem lies with the cable modem and cable, not the computer.

1) Switch off the cable modem for 10 seconds.
2) Take out the RJ45 cable on both sides (modem and PC) and switch

It worked like a miracle!
Thanks all!
