Q: Windows 7 Homegroup: No Permission to Open Folders under Network in NSC This thread is locked from future replies

I have set up a homegroup.  I have two wireless computers running windows 7.  I created a homegroup on C1, which C2 saw and joined.  Now, C2 appears in C1's homegroup, but C1 cannot open the files under homegroup--the files just do not respond.  Under the Network portal in the NSC, when I click on C2's or C1's shared files, I get this error:

"C2 is not accessible.  You might not have permission to use this network resource.  Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.  The specified network provider names is invalid."

However, C2 can open C1's files under Network.

Anybody have any clue how I can give C1 permission to open its files under Network too and stop getting the quoted error above?  Both computers are running updated Mcafee and are trusted.

Just FYI, I fixed it!    The problem was I did not have the remote access client installed on my adapter.  So if this happens again, now you know!

Take care.

Did this solve your problem?

Sorry this didn't help.
