Trouble using remote desktop with an ad hoc network .....

Hi,
I want to control my desktop with my tablet - both run windows 7 however I am encountering some problems.
First I create an adhoc network on one computer and connect to it with the other via the wireless. No problems - I can file share. I enable remote desktop on both computers. In system I allow remote connection on both computers and have tried both network level authentification and "any" version of remote desktop.  What happens is this , I get a warning that it isnt a recognised certificate but proceed anyway, then I have to give the password for the desktop, and then the desktop screen goes blank then goes to the startup screen where I have to login again and the adhoc wireless connection disconects..... any advice ?
