Hi Lou6116,

Welcome to Microsoft 7 answers Forum!

1.      Click on Remote Desktop Connection in the Start.

2.      Click on Options.

3.      Click on Advanced tab.

4.      Click on Settings under “Connect it from anywhere”.

5.      Click “Automatically Detect RD gateway Server Settings”.

6.      Click OK.

You may also try the steps below:

1.      Go to Control Panel>System>Advanced System Settings

2. Go to Remote tab.

3. Under Remote Assistance, put a check mark on Allow Remote Assistance connections to this computer
Note: This automatically adds Remote Desktop exception in Windows Firewall.

4. Click on Advanced...

Click this bar to view the full image.

     5. Put a check mark on Allow this computer to be controlled remotely.

     6. Click on OK.
Note: This automatically adds Remote Assistance exception in Windows Firewall.

Let me know if this worked.
