Programs Can't Connect to the internet

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate (Signiture Series), and I can't get most programs to conect to the internet that don't use the web.

I get errors on several products that can't connect to the activation servers (Microsoft and Other Vendors)
My Security software can't get updates (Unable to connect to server)

Few programs actually work, like my email. I am not sure why some programs can connect to the internet and some can't!

What happens when you try to login with Internet Explorer?

  

 

You might check if any change has been made in the connection settings within the Internet Explorer.

To check that:

1.       Open Internet Explorer.

2.       Go to Tools.

3.       Select internet Options.

4.       Go to the Connection tab, click on LAN setting.

5.       Check if any proxy setting has been changed in there.

If anything has been changed set it back to original settings and check if your issue is resolved.

 

If that does not resolve the issue try troubleshooting the Network Adapter from Network and Sharing Center.

1.       Click the Start button,

2.       Click Control Panel.

3.       In the search box, type troubleshooter.

4.       Click Troubleshooting, click Network and Internet, and then click the type of problem you are experiencing.
