Is it possible to disable the Windows Zero Configuration?

I am using a dell machine that has its own Wi-Fi management installed, it appears as though that the WZC keeps taking over the management of the connection. What I would like to do is to only use the Dell Wi-Fi management application only on Windows 7 32bit. Anyone having an idea on how to do this?

Usually there is a configurable checkbox or something similar in the manufacturers wireless management software that lets you choose which will control the wireless hardware, ie. the Dell utility or Windows. Have you looked for that? Open the Dell utility and check.

Hi

In Windows 7 the Service is called WLAN Autoconfig.

You get there by going to Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Services.

You can Disable and or Enable as you pleased.
