Connecting win7 laptop to XP network ?

I have just bought a new laptop running win7 home

My home environment is XP based with several desktops hard wired to my internet wireless router

My new laptop can see the router and has connected to my network for internet access via the router (wirelessly)

But i cant see or connect to any of the desktops that are connected to the router ????

I would like to be able to see the desktops to share files etc etc, and also to use my printer which is connected to one of the desktops

I'm sure this has been asked before, but i cant find a deffinative answer of how to make this work

Thanks

Steve
