Error message: 1796 "You do not have sufficient access to your computer to connect to the selected printer", when trying to print from a PC with Windows 7 to a PC which is wired to my iMac.

Original title: Windows 7 Bonjour printing to Mac wired printer

Hi there, I am trying to print from a PC with Windows 7 to a PC which is wired to my iMac.

Have downloaded Bonjour, and keep getting error message 1796 "You do not have sufficient access to your computer to connect to the selected printer."

Have searched for solutions for 2 days.  Nothing seems to work.

Any help would be extremely appreciated.

Thanks  James

Hi James,

1. Are you using Windows 7 32bit or 64bit version?

2. What is the make and model of the printer?

Bonjour is not fully compatible with Windows 7 system.

Refer the link for compatibility:

Bonjour for Windows

Method 1:

You may try installing the Bonjour Print Services for Windows v2.0.2 and check if it helps.

Method 2:

You may try running Bonjour in compatibility mode and check if it helps:

Thanks very much for your reply.

Tried all of the above, but none of it worked.  Still get the same error message.

Am running Windows 7, 64 bit.  My Canon MP610 is connected to my iMac.

Not sure what to try next.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

James

Well, thanks very much, Debbie_H  So you can't answer it, and dump it somewhere else. You could at least give a link to the new thread position. Not impressed
