Error 651: Can't connect to the internet

I use Windows 7 on a brand new Dell laptop. However, I can no longer access the internet using my broadband connection.

When I try to connect, it trys to connect through Wan Miniport PPPoE, then fails citing Error 651.

A previous post said this would be fixed if I disabled Bonjour.

However, I opted to remove it and still I get the same problem. I can't download any more updates, patches or fixes as I can't get online....this basically renders my computer useless.

Does anyone know how to fix it?

Thanks clokdi for linking my blog for the problem. For Anonymous8611, I not sure whether you had fully read my blog as I did mentioned the workaround for TrustInstaller thingy.

Check the above link and look for the method to grant administrators full access to a file. Hope this helps.
