wireless connection

i have a new sony vaio with windows 7 installed.  it will not connect with my home network.  i can connect wirless to other networks (i've tried at wifi hotspots in coffee shops and at my work).  I have checked that my router (d-link model wbr-2310) is compatible with windows 7 on the companies website and it says it is already compatible.  I have updated both the atheros wireless network adapter and the ms virtual wifi miniport adapter.  another help forum suggested disabling the ms virtual miniport adapter, which i tried, and this does not work.

help, please

Can you try WPA2 or at least WPA?

log into the router with a web browser

go to

select wireless settings

super G disabled

enable WPA2 enhanced

cipher type AES

then reboot the router and reconfigure the network on the computer
