Question

Q: I now cannot get into my Windows live mail acct. This thread is locked from future replies

I've left 3 messages on the solution center forum and have not recvd a response. I have a problem sending emails and keep getting this error: smtp.west.cox.net

                 WLM Error ID: 0x800CCC0E

                  Protocol: SMTP

                 Port 25

                 Secure (SSL) No

                 Socket Error: 10060

Ive tryed changing settings from the suggestions given on the forum for other people. Nothing works and now I cant get into WLM because ID requirements keep poping up and I key them in and it just repeats. I have been waiting for 3 days to get some help. I am extremely disapointed in WLM. I had Outlook Express before and had no problems using it abroad.

A:

Hi

The SMTP server that is used to send mail is the ISP server.

Some of them do not allow sending mail thta is not coming from your email with them, others might need special settings.

As a first step check with your ISP, if and how to set the SMTP to be used by Windows mail.
