Home network problems: Windows XP laptop won't connect to Windows 7 desktop for printer/file/music sharing anymore.

1)  My former XP (desktop) to XP (netbook) home network worked perfectly!  I could print from either computer to a shared printer, I could use the DVD and CD drives located on my desktop with my netbook, etc.
2)  I just upgraded my desktop to Win7, and while I love Win7, the home network is gone.  I can "see" my netbook on my desktop network, but can't access it.  I can't even "see" my desktop (nor printer, etc) from my netbook.
3) I can get on the internet with my netbook through a wired or wireless router connected to my desktop.  And, yes, I've tried all the wizards for home network setups, to no avail.  Any ideas out there?

Update:  On my Windows7 desktop I turned off "password protected sharing" in the "change sharing for different network profiles" and can now "see" most of the home network.  I can only access the printer so far, but making progress....

Did this solve your problem?

Sorry this didn't help.
