cannot scan from Lexmark X4650 printer. Error message "cannot retrieve application list"

When I installed my Lexmark X4650 printer I received a message saying "Required system Software Not Installed", Microsoft.NET Framework version 2.0 is required to continue.  I went to Microsoft to download and got a message that it was already installed on my computer.   Now I can't get rid of the message telling me to get the software, (it pops up every time I turn on the computer) and I can't get the printer to scan to the computer.  I get a message on the printer that it  "cannot retrieve application list".  The printer prints perfectly fine, but will not scan.  I just installed the printer on a new computer and everything was working fine on the old one.  The only thing different is this time I am wireless.  Can any one  help ?

This error message means that the wrong driver package has been installed and you have to install the driver package that includes Productivity Studio.

Here’s how you resolve it.

1. First uninstall the Lexmark driver. For help, refer:

2.  Reboot the computer if necessary.
IMPORTANT: After you uninstall, check that the following folders are deleted: "C:\Program Files\Lexmark XXXX Series\" or "C:\Program Files (x86)\Lexmark XXXX Series\".

3. Install the driver package available for your product from the link below. As of now, there isn’t any driver released for Windows 7 yet. You may still check with the available drivers from the link below and see which one gets the scanner to work properly.
