Question

Q: Live Mail Gripe This thread is locked from future replies

Have upgraded to Live Mail withy W7 and find one thing very annoying. I use Mailwasher to screen my email before I bring it into the computer. I set Live Mail to not check automatically because that's what Mailwasher does. After a period of time Live Mail checks anyway. It also always checks when it comes out of hibernation.

When I asked MS tech support about why it does that, I was told it was built into Live Mail. Really?

Why should MS decide whether I want to check mail automatically and why do they have the checkbox to turn it off if some software writer thinks I should do it even if I don't wnat to?

Does anyone know of a work around or way to turn this off permanently?

Well, it's kinda/sorta built in. It's what us peons call a bug. Post a query about it here. They will be able to tell you if it will be addressed in the next build.
