D Link wireless adapter and compatibility with Windows 7

Trying to install DLink  DWL-G122 Wireless Network ADapter onto new ASUS Desktop. Error message saying 2 EntryPoint files not found. It has been working fine on a 32 bit Windows XP for a couple of years. DLink tech people say that it is not compatible, no new drivers to update;  but Windows 7 Compatiblility Center says it is. My Geek Squad  people say that it might be the 32/64 bit issue. Also using the DLink DI 624 Wireless Router. Also a 2nd computer in the house working fine with existing router.
