Network Printer cannot connect

Hi,

Its for my homegroup network with both computers running Windows 7 (pc is on 64bit and laptop is on 32bot). I can print from the PC where the printer (Epson) is connected via USB but I can't print from my laptop through the network.

The homegroup works fine enough, I can access files through it.

I thought originally it was Pharos that was upsetting the computer (installed very very poorly and finally days later managed to get every sign of it off the laptop) - but now I get the printer being found but it won't connect!

I've been though a couple of other threads but none of it seems to work. The file and printer sharing has always been connected (as my brother from his XP computer can print to my printer) and the firewall lets it through.

Is there any other way? The permissions are set to print for Everyone so its not that either.

Does anyone know how I can get my laptop access to print???

Hi

Unfortunately there is misconception about the term Everyone.

Permission to Everyone means every user that is allowed to connet to the computer.

If you have General Permission for Jack, Jill, and John, and you want to allow all of them to print then instead of checking three names you just check Everyone.

I.e., in this example,  Everyone means just Jack, Jill, and John.

Answer

Hi SummerPixie,

1.     What happens when you try to print?

2.     Are you getting any error message?

3.     Are you able to access the printer using the laptop?

4.     In which computer have you created homegroup?

5.     Have you installed the epson software on the laptop in order to install the printer?
