Windows 7 won't recognize my external hard drive connected via USB

I've checked the website and there are no drivers for the hard drive. It claims that it's plug 'n play.
The make and model is Coolmax and the model is HD 389 U2.

Please help me resolve this issue. I have very important files saved on here that I need!

I'm sorry, but we've been wasting time looking at Device Manager and Disk Management when the computer doesn't even know that you've connected an external disk drive.

Try a different USB cable.  Try a different USB port.
