Hi,

1. Did you ever have any Lexmark device or software installed on the computer?
2. How long have you been facing this issue?
3. Did you make any changes on the computer prior to this issue?
4. Where do you see ‘Yield sign’ in your computer? What exactly happens when you try to open/double-click on it? Any error message?
5. Did you try any troubleshooting steps?
6. Why are you referring to Lexmark X422? Do you get any related error message?

Post back the exact and complete error message, if any. Also post back the screenshot of that ‘Yield sign’. This might help us in assisting you better.

I can't print from my laptop.  When I go to 'devices and printers' there is a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in the center over the laptop image (a HP G72 Notebook PC).
When I click on that, I am told it needs troubleshooting.
I click on troubleshoot.
Then I get a message that there is a problem with device driver Lexmark X422 and reinstalling it might fix the problem.  I am told click to try reinstalling, so I do.
Then I get a message that troubleshooting was unable to fix the problem, that Lexmark X422 has a driver problem.

I do not know if being unable to print is related to the problem (my printer isn't a Lexmark, it's a Brother HL 5250 DN).  But I would like to know why I keep getting this troubleshooting message for Lexmark x422.

A Lexmark X422 is a printer. Where did you get your computer? Did you get it used? New? Refurbished? Did you install Windows 7 on it? Did Windows come preinstalled?

Not the original poster, but I have the same problem.  My computer was purchased new at Walmart in November, Windows came preinstalled.

Why dont you answer peoples questions?

I have exactly the same problem.  My actual printer

is Brother - should Lexmark be deleted?.  It was

never installed by me.  I bought my Thinkpad R61i

new. I just updated to Windows 7 Ultimate.

I get the "yield" sign and error 10. It is an

explanation mark in a yellow triangle.

Please answer this ASAP

Thank you.

Hello HellenofTroy49,

Due to the age of this thread, it would be best to create a new one as there may be subtle differences between your issue and that of the Original Poster.

1. I have never installed anything knowingly on my computer from  "Lexmark".

2. About six weeks ago my 3100 series HP printer/scanner starting requirering me to Ctrl/Alt/Delete a "transfering image file" box after I would scan something to the computer.  About 4 weeks ago my HP printer would not scan anything to the Computer.  I figured good opurtuinty to buy a new printer/scaner.  I got an HP 6500A.  I installed the software as directed and everything worked fine except the scanner, same problem as the old one.

3. NO changes made.

4. Don't remember the details of my yield sign.

5. Took it Staples.  They just said alot of people see the same problem...?

6.  I started poking around and found my way into a Windows Services Manager and found that the "windows image acquisition service" was not running.  Clicked on it to try and start it and I got an 'error 1068 service failed to start'.  I asked for properties or something on the service and the infomation that came up was the driver was a Lexmark 422 driver or software.  I figured it was something Microsoft was using from Lexmark.(?)

I do have a technical back ground in electronics.  I started dealing with computers when 64k was alot of memory and 500k hard drive at work was as big as washing machine and had 240V 3 phase power to turn it on and then I got to admin a PDP 11 Dec machine for about 10 years but I haven't really kept up computers other than to have one at home as most people do now.

I just started having this problem today.  My Dell 3010cn printer stopped working and when I went to try to fix it I noticed that I was having this issue.  I am desperately searching for a fix!
