Hi mcstylianou,

Thanks for posting on Microsoft Answers!

(a) Try using a different usb port?
(b)I would recommend you to uninstall and re-install the Western Digital Hard drive.

Uninstall and Re-install the hard drive:
You must be logged on as an administrator to perform these steps.
1.Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Security, and then, under System, clicking Device Manager. Administrator permission required If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.‌
2.In the list of hardware categories, find the hard drive name under Hard Drives and right click and then click on Uninstall.
3.Restart the computer and connect the hard drive again, it will re-install it back automatically.
