Virtual "sticking" of keys when playing games like Diablo 3 or Guild Wars 2

Original Title: Virtual "sticking" of keys

I recently purchased an HP 2.4ghz wireless keyboard/mouse combo. When playing games like Diablo 3 or Guild Wars 2 I use the Windows key to access my desktop and Chrome.  I am getting a virtual "sticking" of keys.  Specifically shift and ctrl. Also when I hit the esc key it acts like the Windows key and takes me to my desktop. VAlso when this happens and in game the Windows button doesn't do anything. I have sticky and filter keys turned off. I am operating on Windows 7.  Rebooting corrects this problem but the problem happens every time I play.  Sometimes the problem occurs during the game sometimes when I am at the desktop.

Any help would be appreciated!

P.S. I purchsed this literally last night, I do not believe it to be a hardware issue. Wasn't exactly sure what category to select.

Hi,

Here is a question to understand the issue better:

Have you updated the drivers for Keyboard/mouse combo?

Let us try the following methods and see if they help.

Method 1: Install the updated drivers for the combo by Logging to HP’s website or from the drivers CD/DVD from HP.

You may also refer:

Update a driver for hardware that isn't working properly:

Method 2: See if it works with on-screen keyboard.

Refer:

Type without using the keyboard (On-Screen Keyboard):

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/Type-without-using-the-keyboard-On-Screen-Keyboard

Method 3:

Step 1: Try in safe mode and see if works fine.

        Refer the following article:

Start your computer in safe mode:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

Step 2: If it works in safe mode, try clean boot to eliminate software conflict.

A clean boot helps to verify if any third party application service or startup item is causing this issue.

Refer:

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

Note: After you have finished diagnosing, follow step 7 in the article to boot to normal startup.
