Q: standard vga graphics adapter driver This thread is locked from future replies

I recently ran a factory reset on my dell xps laptop. After rebooting I've discovered that standard vga graphics adapter hasn't installed and is apparently out of date. I try to run the device update but it isnt coming back with anything. Does anybody know what i can do to get it working? I'm pretty sure this isnt the only thing that hasnt installed properly.

I have the drivers and utilities cd that came with the laptop but i'm well out of my depth witrh trying to fix this

Using the Dell driver downloads site:
1. Enter your service tag, or select your model.

2. On the Drivers & Downloads page select your Windows version.

--To see if you have Windows 7 32 or 64 bit:

A. Click the Start button, right click Computer, and then click Properties.

B. Under System you can view the system type - it will say 32 or 64 bit.

3. Look under video drivers for drivers to download and install.
