Samsung YP-T9 mp3 player looks for driver and won't load as mass storage

Samsung YP-T9 mp3 player looks for driver and won't load as mass storage. No way to load my music. Windows 7 compatiblility page says just plug and play but no go. Worked with XP.

Help with getting windows 7 to recognize my mp3 player.  It's a Samsung YpT9 and it's suppossed to be compatible but it looks for a driver and comes back empty and won't let me even open it as mass storage which would work fine.

Hi,

I would suggest you to check the device manager for any errors after connecting the player.

1. Click start, in the start search box type device manager and then press enter.

2. In the list of devices check if you see devices or a device with exclamation marks or red x marks.

3. Right click on the device and then click on properties.

4. Run the hardware troubleshooter as well.

Open the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Open-the-Hardware-and-Devices-troubleshooter

What to do when a device isn't installed properly

Hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you require further help.

It's connected just fine.  Windows keeps looking for a driver that doesn't exsist.  On XP I just plugged it in and there it was.  I could use EmoDio or the other samsung software to treat it like an MP3 player OR if I just wanted to drag and drop files, which is my preference, I could see it in my computer list as a mass storage device.  One day I love Windows 7 the next day I hate it.  Sure would like to be able to listen to my music while I work.

Windows just holds it hostage in the device manager with the big crazy !triangle and when I try to update the driver, which it insists needs to be done it says to go to the manufacturer site blah blah blah.   Theres no driver for it.  Its plug and play but 7 is just not having it.

I tried all for 2 days on the internet. I have WIN7, Samsung YP-T9, the latest ZUNE SW, device mgr. says it is working fine, but ZUNE MS SW does not detect device. I have tried different USB slots in the back of computer, deleted ZUNE SW, downloaded it again, tried it now on the laptop and STILL ZUNE MS SW does not detect.

I NEVER had so much trouble with ANYTHING than this ZUNE and its SW. IPOD works always and I am sorry I lost it.

Hello Ritter197,

Due to the age of this issue, it would be best to create a new thread for this in the following forum:

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/hardware

Doing so will avoid any confusion between your issue and that of the original poster.

Best regards,
