Print spooler stopping -Spoolsv.exe and Exception Code: 0xc0000374

I have a problem that occurs at regular intervals with printing internet pages and some pdf files. I have a workaround but I have so far failed to find a better solution. The most helpful comment I have found so far is given in the next paragraph.

The exception code 0xc0000374 indicates a heap corruption - to determine the solution, you would need to debug the crash in a debugger to figure out who is corrupting the heap.

Where do I find the heap? What will be the file name? What tools can I use to debug?

Hi,

I would suggest you to try the following methods and check if it helps.

Method 1:

Run the printer troubleshooter and check if it helps.

Open the Printer troubleshooter:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Open-the-Printer-troubleshooter

Method 2:

Try to Clear Printer Spooler files and enable the Spooler service.

Follow the steps to clear print spooler files:

a.       Click Start, type "services.msc" (without quotes) and press Enter.

b.      Double-click "Printer Spooler" in the Services list.

c.       Click Stop and click OK.

d.      Click Start, type "%WINDIR%\system32\spool\printers" (without quotes) in the search box and press Enter. In the open window, and delete all files in this folder.

e.      Now, go to “Services” again. Double-click "Printer Spooler".

f.        On the General tab, next to Startup type, make sure that Automatic is selected.

g.       If the service is not already running, under Service status, click Start, and then click OK.

h.      Restart the computer and check if it works.

Method 3:

Try to remove the printer and then add printer and check if it helps.

Step 1:

Remove the printer from your computer and check if it helps.

To delete a printer: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Install-a-printer

Step 2:

Try to install the printer driver and check if it helps.

Find and install printer drivers in Windows 7:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Find-and-install-printer-drivers

Hope the information is helpful.
