Previous screen resolution of 1280x800 not available after installing Windows 7

Original title: Windows 7 refuses to display proper native resolution.

I just installed a new copy of windows 7 on my pc and it does not want to display the correct native resolution of 1280x800. Instead it recommends 1280x720. When i put it on this resolution many things are squashed and not displayed correctly, this is the same in many of my games and i cannot play correctly.

Is there any fix to the windows drivers to correctly display my native resolution without it being blurred and hard to view? I tried altering the resolution with my nvidia drivers too but no luck at all.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hello Wordy00,

Although the video card in combination with the correct video driver for Windows XP worked, the drivers supplied by the manufacturer for your video card for Windows 7 simply do not offer the resolution that you are seeking. I would even try previous versions of the drivers to determine if they resolve the issue you are facing by visiting the website for the manufacturer of your computer.

Hope this helps
