Mustek ScanExpress A3 USB Scanner detects no driver for Windows 7. How to fix it?

Original Title: Mustek ScanExpress A3 USB Scanner


OK ....  the Microsoft Compatability website says I can attach this scanner and it will run on windows 7 64 bit without any further action. NOt SO!!! It can not find a driver and Mustek shows no drivers for 7.  The vista 64 driver does not work!

Poo on Microsoft for saying it's compatable and poo on Mustec for not keeping up to date!

Is there a difference between Mustek for Europe and Mustek for USA As far as drivers are concerned?

If the above method doesn’t help, As a workaround, you may try downloading the Vista or XP USB driver and software from the link below and run it in compatibility mode.

After the download completes, you can change the compatibility settings by running Program Compatibility troubleshooter.

Method 2: Steps to Open Program Compatibility troubleshooter:

a)    Click Start, click on Control Panel.

b)    In the search box, type troubleshooter, and then click Troubleshooting.

c)    Under Programs, click Run programs made for previous versions of Windows.

d)    Follow the instructions in the troubleshooter.

You can also open the Program Compatibility troubleshooter by right-clicking a program's icon or shortcut and then clicking troubleshoot compatibility.

Method 3:

Make older programs run in this version of Windows
