Microsoft Trackball Optical not recognized by Mouse and Keyboard Center 2.2

I'm using Microsoft Trackball Optical 1.0 USB mouse with Windows 7 x64 on HP Z210 desktop.
After installing "Microsoft - Pointing Drawing - Microsoft Hardware USB Mouse" update, my Intellimouse software was replaced by Mouse and Keyboard Center v.2.2.173, which says that it cannot find any supported devices.

Following the procedure described here http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/help/windows-8/troubleshooting/mouse/hw-connection, I've tried plugging my mouse to all the available USB ports, but the result was the same.

Fortunately, all the additional buttons work as previously, but there is no way to configure them.

Answer
After looking at this question, I've uninstalled Mouse and Keyboard Center v.2.2, and installed previous v.2.1.177 from here. Now everything is working fine.
I've unpacked both v.2.2 and v2.1 installation files and compared the contents - apparently, in the new version the model files and INF file descriptions for my mouse are missing.
