have my laptop connected to a dock station, no sound through the station to the headphones, it just keeps coming from the built-in speakers, what to do ?

I want be able to switch between compters using the dockstation, therefor I want the sound to come through the station to the headphones ?

Decking stations are extremely unique and difficult to use, if the laptop was not designed to use a docking station. 

What type of docking station?  If USB, consider contacting the docking station manufacturer.

The docking station is Dell PR01X, my computer is Dell Latitude E6420 running Windows 7 Professional.

Hi Oxen20,

 

Here are the steps to fix this issue.

 

a)    Click on Start

b)   Select Control Panel 

c)    Go to Sound and select Playback tab

d)   Select the Headphone device

 

Now try playing the audio / video and check whether you are able to play through headphones or not.
