Error 0x00000015 when trying to scan.

Hi there.

Hoping someone can help. Just purchased new pc with windows 7. Downloaded the drivers for the Printer - Brother MFC-890 - and everything prints fine. However if I try to scan it says error 0x00000015 and boots me straight out.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi Frankster1975,

I suggest you to uninstall and re-install the drivers for your Brother Printer and check for the issue.

I also suggest you to uninstall the Printer related programs from ‘Programs and Features’ and then download and install the right drivers for your Printer from Manufacturer’s website:

Below are the steps to get into ‘Programs and Features’:

1. Open ‘Programs and Features’ by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Programs, and then clicking Programs and Features.

2. Select a program, and then click Uninstall.

 To uninstall drivers from Device Manager:

a. Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Device Manager.‌

b.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

c. Look for the Printer drivers, right click on it and selectUninstall.

d. Reboot the computer.

e. On reboot, Windows 7 should re-install the drivers automatically.
