Does MS have any intentions to support HDMI-CEC in Windows Media Centre ?

Hi,

The question is as title :  can anyone tell me whether there exists support (or if support is planned) in Windows Media Centre (or Windows in general) for the HDMI subsidiary standard CEC (Consumer Electronics Control)which allows devices like TVs and Video recorders to be controlled via an HDMI link ?

Thanks,

Boo

Hi,

I asked this before but couldn't find the question in the forum :

Consumer Electronics Control or CEC is a protocol which is transmitted over two pins in the HDMI standard connector.  Is there any support in Windows 7 for using this protocol ?  It would be most useful if Media Centre could utilise it to switch off connected TVs etc so I am also interested to know whether there are any plans to implement this protocol if it is not yet supported ?

Thanks,

Boo

Hi Booboobedoo,

Thank you for posting.

It does support if you have the HDMI CEC ports and media center extender has to have this option.
For more information you'd need to contact the HDMI-CEC manufacturer as they'd be in a better position to assist you.
