D-Link Wireless Adapter won't work with Windows 7

I looked in the Windows Compatibility Center and it says that my D-Link Wireless Adapter, WUA-2340 is compatible with Windows 7. Our newest computer can see my wireless network, but won't connect. Worked fine with Vista. So is it compatible or not? I downloaded the latest drivers from the D-Link website, that version is a year old. I was told by D-link support that it is not compatible with Win 7. They say it's not. MS says it is. It won't connect. Anyone know what's going on? I would like to not have to purchase a new adapter.

Hi Mike,

Welcome to Microsoft Answers!

D-Link WUA-2340 is compatible with Windows 7, but you would need to download software for your product from the link given below. Select the appropriate Operating System Version before you download.

You may also try changing the firewall settings to different levels and check if that helps.

  1. Open Windows Firewall click on the Start button, and then click on Control Panel.
  2. In the search box, type firewall, and then click Windows Firewall.

For more details on firewall settings follow the link
