Q: Cherry smart card reader (STU-1000) This thread is locked from future replies

I have a new computer with Windows 7 64-bit OS.  I try to connect my PnP Cherry STU-1000 smart card reader and it will not recognize it.  I can't even update the driver (grayed out).  Help?

I suggest you to check in the device manager if the card reader is recognized.

Temporarily disable security software and firewall and check if the Smart card reader is detected, and also try to connect to a different USB port and check if it works.

I suggest you to go to manufacturer’s website download the latest drivers for the card reader which are compatible with Windows7 and install.

I also suggest you to run a Microsoft Fixit and check if it works, here is the link:
