reformatting usb flash drive to ntfs causes a red bar when used with readyboost vs. blue bar in fat32, and hdd shows blue bar with ntfs. is this a problem?

reformatting a usb flash drive to ntfs file sys allows full useage of flash drive storage cap. in readyboost but shows as a red bar in my computer while my hdd. is also in ntfs shows blue. flash drives formatted in fat32 also show blue. does the red bar mean that that flash drive isn't compatable? or is not working in windows7 64 bit?

Welcome to Microsoft Answers.

Not sure why that would be the case (have you tried rebooting?).

But, just as an FYI, almost all of the people I looked at recommend staying with FAT32 for the flash drives because with NTFS you will have many more writes than with FAT32 and that will wear the flash drive out much faster.
