virtual xp mode

I'm testing running the virtual xp mode machine off it's own NIC instead of Natting.  First I installed via NAT and all works well but when downloading on either machine, one slows.  So I decided to install a separate NIC, told the virtual machine that was it's connection, and now it's running off of it's own ip, etc.  The problem now is that it seems to have slowed the opening of programs on the virtual machine.  Are there other settings I'm not configuring to make the viturtual machine respond like it's suppose to?

'Tis all a chequer board of nights and days,
Where destiny with men for pieces plays;
Hither and thither, and mates, and slays.

In a world without walls and fences, who needs Windows and Gates?! Life sucks! Get used to it!

Did this solve your problem?
