Use other application to handle scans

I'm using the Dutch version of Windows 7 home premium.


When i click on "scan properties" in the context menu of a scanner, under the tab "events" there are no applications listed to handle scan data. When i press the scan button on my scanner (Canon Pixma MP250) Windows asks which program i want to use but the list is empty.

I have several applications that are capable of this, how can i tell windows to use them?
Please note that i don't want to use the manufacturer application, drivers are correctly installed though.

Hi BjornR,

Try to add the scanner in the “events” list. Click on the “browse” button on the same window, copy and paste this path %windir%\system32\WFS.exe in the box next to browse. You should be able to see the scanner listed.
