118 MB hard disk space unusable

hello everyone. i am using windows 7 32 bit edition on dell inspiron 1545. the specifications are

intel core 2 duo

2 GB ram

250 GB hard disk

there is only one drive ( C drive ) in the partition. only 232.77 GB is allocated out of 250 GB. the problem is that 118 MB is unallocated. it was the OEM's partition but i formatted it because i didnot knew what it was for. the left over 118 MB cannot be merged with 232.77 GB. it only shows the option of creating new drive. on the other hand C drive doesnot show the option of extend volume. how can i use the 118 MB ? do i have to format ?

Answer

A 250gb hard drive after formatting only allows 232.83 gb. There is no 118 gb not allocated, and you have lost nothing..
