btballoon.dll

Answer

A:

Hi Beloy,

a.       Since when are you facing this issue?

b.      Do you remember making any changes on your computer?

c.       Does the Bluetooth software work properly?

d.      Do you have any yellow exclamation mark in Device Manager?

btballoon.dll is a process belonging to the Bluetooth Software.  Try uninstalling and re-installing the Bluetooth software to fix this problem

Step 1:
1. Before we uninstall and re-install the Bluetooth software, let’s go to Device Manager, check if you find any yellow exclamation mark in front of the Bluetooth device.

2. If yes, right click on the device in the list and select Update Driver Software; then click Search automatically for updated driver software.

Access the below link to know more about Device Manager:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Open-Device-Manager

Step 2:
1. Remove software related to Bluetooth from Programs and Features (Start>Control Panel>Programs>Programs and Features).

Refer the below link to know about Uninstalling a Program:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Uninstall-or-change-a-program

2. If you find any difficulties in removing Bluetooth software, download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility.

4. You can use the utility to remove installation information for programs that were installed by using Windows Installer. Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.

Access the link below for more info:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301

Note: Ignore the title of the KB article. You may download and install the Utility.

5. Run the cleanup utility and remove any traces of Bluetooth software present on your computer.

4. Once the traces of the older software are removed using the cleanup utility, you may try and install the Bluetooth software and check if the issue gets fixed.

Hope this helps.

Manasa P – Microsoft Support.
