Unable to play Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic 2, error message "game stopped working".

Original Title: Kotor works but Kotor 2 no, how can I fix it?

I instaled star wars kotorin my computer (windows 7) and it worked perfectly.  I donwloaded star wars kotor 2 and it lets my make my charachter and that but 

after the intro video it says that the game stopped working. Please help.
