Question

Q: Windows 7 Home 64-Bit compatibility issues with Star Trek Armada 2

I have a HP DV6-1355dx and I have been having issues running programs on Windows 7 Home 64-Bit and don't like it. First of all I have a Windows 95/98/XP/Vista Games called "Star Trek Armada", "Star Trek Armada II Demo", "Star Wars Galactic Battle Grounds - Saga Edition", and I also have a game production programe called 'Game Maker 7". With the Star Trek games they install OK but when I try to play them they say I don't have enough virtual memory, they both need a minimum of 256MB and a recommended amount of 1GB, and according to my computer I have 8GB Virtual Memory. With the Star Wars game the Graphics are messed up but the computers graphics card is more then enough to support it because my computer call support 1080p 3d graphics and the game is not HD or 3D. The "Game Maker 7" programe keeps on reverting to the free lite version from the paid for Pro version, but it does not do this on my Windows 7 Home 32-Bit HTPC I also have it on, and it also is not showing some of the programes tap tiles, but they are shown on the HTPC, so would you know what could be the problem, I know it it something to do with the 64-Bit part of the OS, but I don't know if it is just that or not. I have also contacted HP and YoYo Games (Game Maker 7), and am waiting to here from them. I would appreciate it if you could at least help me trouble shoot the problem.

Hi Sharp955,

Yes, Star Trek game is not compatible with 64 bit Windows 7 edition. However it is compatible with 32 bit Windows 7.
