Windows 7 Folder with files disappeared - not in recycle bin - where???

While in Windows and playing some music with WMP, I wanted to rename the folder where the current playing music files were located. It said the folder is busy with something. I closed WMP and tried to rename it, it still kept saying the folder is busy with another app and cannot be renamed.

Now, at that time I couldn't close all the application and restart, so I used hibernation and reboot with linux. Once in linux, I rename the folder located in My Documents on a different drive that Windows files and restarted the computer with the previous Windows hibernation file.

Once back in Window, I simply cannot find the folder nor any files. When searching files, it says links are broken. I looked in the recycle bin and nothing about this folder is there. I returned in linux and there again I cannot see the folder I renamed earlier. It's been a few days ago.

Can someone tell where is that folder? Should I assume the folder was deleted? Or hidden somewhere?

Thanks if you can help me get somewhere.

There are third party applications available to recover deleted files from your hard disk. Search for the recovery application using your favorite search engine.

Note: It is not guaranteed that this will recover any or all of the files so it would be at your own risk and expense. Using Third Party Software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from the use of Third Party Software can be solved. Using Third Party Software is at your own risk.
