Q: Getting error message that dciman32.dll is missing in Windows 7 This thread is locked from future replies

Hi. I restored my PC to a different start point about a month ago and had an error when I rebooted that it was missing dciman32.dll. I downloaded it off the internet (it was dated from 2004) and put it in windows/system32 and it no longer showed the error when I rebooted it. I wondered if it had something to do with a DVD program I may have installed. I also rolled it back to the orginal point at one point and that didn't help either.

So I haven't had a problem since then and now I want to install H&R block to do my taxes. I get the following error message:

The program can't start because DCIMAN32.DLL is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix the problem.

I searched on here and did a scannow from the command prompt and restarted it but it didn't help.

What do I do to reinstall this file??

Thank you.

Solved finally. I needed to copy the file into SysWOW64 not System32.

Did this solve your problem?

Sorry this didn't help.
