error 0x80071ac3:having trouble copying files from my old, but still function, USB

I've just brought a new USB and am having trouble copying files from my old, but still function, USB. Both are Kingstons not that it should matter. I'm getting the subject error message 'volume is dirty' etc. I've run check disk both from the properties tool box and through command prompt 'chkdsk x:/F and /R. I am still unable to copy a large number of files.

Hi

The files that cannot be copied are in bad clusters.

Try running chkdsk x: /B

The /B switch will cause check disk to re-evaluate the bad clusters and try to repair them again.

Let us know the results.

Thank You for using Windows 7
