Question

Q: I recently had Microsoft 7 upgrade installed from a clean boot. The tech stored all of my old programs in a windows.old file. How do I move these programs back to the OS system so I can use them This thread is locked from future replies

Old programs saved from a clean boot M7

Answer

A:

Windows.old contains your data files (documents, pictures, music, favorites, E-mail, etc) and programs from before the upgrade.

You can copy the data files to the Windows 7 data folders without losing anything.  You have to re-install the programs.

When you're sure that you've copied everything you want, you can delete the windows.old folder.
