Windows 7 gadgets not working

I just bought my new Sony laptop and it came with windows 7 installed. I love the program but after a couple reboots the gadgets have stopped working. They will start to load and then an error message will pop up and say "there is a problem with windows causing gadgets not to work" then it scans for a solution and tells me that it needs to close and will notify me of a solution when one is found. This is very frustrating, especially due to the fact that this computer is brand new, 5 days old. Can anyone help me. I called technical support and they couldn't fix it either. Thanks!

Hi Danakins02,

Welcome to Microsoft Answers!

Do you get this error message at every start up?

Did you try disabling User Account Control (UAC) or make any changes to it?

This generally happens if UAC is disabled or the security levels are set to the least level. To fix this problem, you need to set the UAC back to default level or at least level 1. You will then be able to install Windows 7 Gadgets on your desktop sidebar.

For more details follow the links given below.
