Right Click Menu Is Black !!

Hi ,

Three days ago I bought a new HP Pavilion dv6 laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium everything is fine except one problem .. And the problem is that when I right click the menu opens but it is blacked out .. nothing appears unless I pass my mouse pointer on the menu options .. So what should or can I do ? please help me :(

Note that I don't use a custom theme or anything and this problem happens with everything from my desktop to mt IE ......etc

Moments ago, I have experienced the very same issue. I "Google It" and have found the solution.

The simple answer/solution is to Change the Transition Effects for Menus and Tooltips

Follow these "no-brainer" steps:

1. Start

2. Right Click Computer

3. Select Properties

4. Click the Advanced System Settings

5. Advanced Tab

6. Under Performance, Click Settings

7. Under Custom: tick (uncheck) the check-box FADE OR SLIDE MENUS INTO VIEW

8. Apply & OK.

Hosam, if you are generous of your time it would be wise to follow Ronnie's recommendation - contact HP Support. Probably, this is caused by a bug(s) because I have the same laptop model HP Pavilion dv6 (with Windows 7 Home Premium) which I bought late February 2010 and initially, all settings "for the appearance and performance of Windows..." are checked (exceptSave taskbar thumbnail previews ) when the option Let Windows choose what's best for my computer is activated and for the past months I have had no problem with right click menu.
