How to make "Favorites" menu appear in the menu bar in Windows Explorer (not IE) in windows 7.

I am not sure how I can upload a screen-shot here.
I am on Intranet this is why I may not be able to try much.
In Windows XP, Windows Explorer, in the menu bar, there were five menus.

File, Edit, View, Favorites, Tools, Help. Similar to internet explorer.

Using Favorites menu I was able to access any of the folder which may be inside 4-5 folders.

This is how it used to save me time.

Because opening 5 folders takes longer.

What I used to do is - go to C Drive --> "Documents and Settings" --> Favorites and paste the shortcut of the desired folder there.

Once this is done I can see all the shortcuts by clicking on Favorites menu.

In Windows 7, Internet Expolrer has this feature but not windows explorer.

Answer
Hi Ankit,
Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Community Forums.

Here are a few steps which you can follow:

Windows 7 gives an easy access to your Favorite folders and libraries when browsing your computer. The ‘Favorites’, available in the left pane of Windows Explorer, are just links to folders, libraries, and drives on your PC. By default, Favorites has links to Desktop, Downloads, Recent Places etc. You can customize this list by adding or deleting links.

How to Add a Folder or Drive to Favorites?

a. Open the Folder or Drive in Windows Explorer.
b. Right click on Favorites in the left panel.
c. Click on ‘Add current location to Favorites’.
You can now find the folder/drive in Favorites. Alternatively just drag and drop the folder/drive on to Favorites to add it.

How to Add a Library to Favorites?

Libraries in Windows 7 are shortcuts, similar to Favorites. They let you organize Documents, Music, Pictures, Videos, etc. You can add the entire ‘Libraries’ or just an individual ‘Library’ such as Pictures or Music to Favorites.
 Steps:
a. Open ‘Libraries’ or an individual Library in Windows Explorer.
b. Right click on Favorites in the left panel.
c. Click on ‘Add current location to Favorites’.

How to Manage Links in Favorites?

Delete any link in Favorites by right clicking on it and selecting ‘Remove’. You can also open the folder location in Windows Explorer, restore a previous version of the link (from Restore Point or Windows Backup), hide the folder in the navigation pane of Windows Explorer etc, all from the right click context menu.

How to Restore Favorites?
If you want to get back the default, right click on Favorites and select ‘Restore favorite links’.
