Extra language in Language Bar

I have a problem with the Input language too, a little different: I installed EN (english) and FR (french) keyboard in "Regional and Language Setting/Keyboard and Language" but the Language Bar shows automatically a third choise: VI (Vietnamese) and I have no way to delete it because in "Regional and Language Setting/Keyboard and Language" there are always only two installed keyboard EN and FR.

Anyone know how to fix that???

Thanks a lot,

Answer

Hello Prusten,

You can go into the registry and remove the language as well.

 - Click Start > type regedit in the start menu searchbox and press enter

 - In the left pane of the Registry Editor navigate to the following:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Microsoft > CTF > SortOrder > Language

Based on your description you should see the following in the right pane:

3 keys with the follow Data

1) 00000409 (represents English)

2) 0000040c (represents French)

3) 0000042a (represents Vietnamese)

In order to remove Vietnamese from your language bar, select the name of the key that

corresponds to that data for Vietnamese and delete the key.

NOTE: Modifying REGISTRY settings incorrectly can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from the configuring of REGISTRY settings can be solved. Modifications of these settings are at your own risk.
