Unable to install app Ubuntu as Windows Store doesn't detect system as x64 (although it is)

Having activated "Windows Subsystem for Linux", I want to install Ubuntu app from Windows Store.

Windows Store says in System requirements architecture x64 required.

That's should be ok as my system is x64 but unfortunately Windows Store does not recognize it so the Launch button remains disabled

Is it possible to repair the Windows Store and make it work properly?
Or is there any workaround to install Ubuntu in the Windows subsystem for Linux without using Windows Store ?

I have no troubles with this How-to.
First I did run the enable powershell command and then the latest windows update.

My problem is that I can't download the Ubuntu app.
In my first post I made a mistake when translating from french, that's the Get button which remain grayed due to unfulfilled architecture prerequisite.

I have the same problem.

Typing "bash" in PowerShell results in:

Visiting the link "https://aka.ms/wslstore" launches the Windows 'Store' app.  Clicking Ubuntu results in the Ubuntu app page with the "Get" button greyed out.

Scrolling down the page, the app is reporting that I lack x64 architecture.

My machine is x64:

Hi,

If you're using the same system and the option to download the application is greyed out, you can refer to the marked as answer post of Deeds_:D found on this thread. The community member suggested to enable the Developer mode before running the bash command. To enable the Developer mode, you can follow these steps:

  1. Click Start menu or the Windows icon.
  2. Select Settings or the gear icon.
  3. Select Update & security.
  4. Under the For developers section, toggle the radio button Developer mode.

Let us know should you need further assistance.

Enabling the Developer mode before running the bash command doesn't help.

After enabling Developer mode, I'm still instructed by PowerShell to visit https://aka.ms/wslstore to download my preferred Linux dist.

When arriving at the Windows Store App, the app still reports my machine as 32 bit when in fact it's a 64 bit machine.

Thanks for any help!

Hey all,

I've managed to resolve the problem. It turned out to be caused by a administrator policy that forbids store installations for certain set of apps. Of course, the crypto errors that the Store throws is completely different but that was the reason in my case.
