Windows Store does not open in Windows 10.

When I click on my store icon, it pulls up and says it can't connect and then tells me this.  The error code is 0xD000000D, in case you need it.  What can I do to get it corrected?

Hi,

I appreciate if you could answer a few questions to narrow down to the issue.

  1. What is the make and model of the computer?

  2. Do you have an active internet connection?

  3. Did you install any third party security application?

  4. Have you setup proxy?

  5. Which is the current build installed on the computer?

This issue may arise due to corruptions in Windows components. We will assist you to resolve the issue.

As an initial troubleshooting step, I suggest you to download and install any pending updates that needs to be installed on the computer through Windows update and check if it helps to resolve the issue.

If the issue still persists, run the app troubleshooter.

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/run-the-troubleshooter-for-windows-apps

If the above suggestion didn’t help you to resolve the issue, I suggest you to perform SFC scan and check if it helps.

System File Checker (SFC) is a utility in Microsoft Windows that allows users to scan for and restore corruptions in Windows system files. Perform System File Check (SFC), and then check if this fixes the issue.

Press the Windows button + X on your keyboard, a mini dialogue box will appear.

2. Choose Command Prompt (Admin). You must run the command prompt in Administrator level.

3. On the command prompt type sfc /scannow and hit enter.

4. If everything went okay and no errors were found, restart your computer and see if the issue re-occurs.

Hope the information helps in resolving the issue related with Windows Store. If the issue still persists, please get back to us with the required information. We will be glad to assist you.

It is an HP Pavillion Notebook that came with Windows 8 and I upgraded like last spring to Windows 10.  Had a few little glitches to work out then so my laptop would talk to my printer and it was all resolved.  Totally.  Have not had any problems until about 1-2 weeks ago.  I can't open the store box and I get an error system.  Tells me I don't have that application.  Got told I have no operating system as a message.  Then my photo viewer is all messed up.  So like when I am in email, I can't open a photo I see as an attachment.  I am told I don't have that app and I need to go to the store.  When I click on the store I am told I don't have that operating system.

In photos I can't open to enlarge them anymore.  I can't edit or do anything with them.  I have tried reinstalling Windows 10....was a suggestion on the recovery section.  I did have a recovery and it tells me dates but when I ran the application, I had several error codes and didn't finish the job.  Won't start a recovery point either.

Everything else seems to be working.  All the other parts except anything to do with the downloads and looking at photos and such seems to be working.

I have had Avast for the past year and have not changed nor have I bought anything else.

Yes I have an active internet connection.

I went through all the window file extensions twice and they pass with flying colors.  Just did the BIOS and it was find also.  Won't let me download or reinstall the store app.  Won't let me download anything to do with photos.  Says I don't have authorization.  I called HP and they were useless.  Told me they would look at it for a price.  I told them the error message is coming from them and not the computer and that I want it fixed.  They refused unless I paid.

I had a virus on my computer.  It was a straight forward virus so everything was fixed properly but that is why it acted the way it did.

I have another solution, which worked for me.

So you can have local windows account, but use your online microsoft profile for apps that need it. But windows store refuses to use this accound in case that your main profile is local. Solution - go to options -user accounts - sign in with microsoft account.
