Your Windows License Will Expire Soon

I'm currently using 'Windows 10 Pro' and my windows has been activated by my organisation's activation service. But i kept getting notification that my windows license will expire soon, it started happening after windows update.

I've tried using slmgr /upk and logging out of my microsoft account but none of that seems to work, I suspect that this is caused by the windows update because before the update I never get this notification.

You might have a volume license client installed. To confirm:

Open Start, type: CMD
Right click CMD
Click Run as administrator

At the prompt, type: slmgr.vbs /dlv
Hit Enter

Take a screenshot of the resulting dialog then post in a reply here.

Hi jayd8,

from the screenshot you provided it appears that Windows is activated properly.
Could you share what the warning looks like?
Also, please try the following:

a: Press Windows key + X.

b: Then click Command Prompt(admin)

c: Now type the following command and then hit enter

slmgr -rearm

d: Now restart the computer.

This will send an Windows activation request to Microsoft's activation servers and should fix the mismatch.

Best regards,
Ralitsa

Windows 10 Pro volume license clients are used by large organizations that deploy Windows 10 in bulk to hundreds or thousands of computers. Sometimes, users will copy these organization keys off the Internet and use them to install Windows 10 Pro, but they are blocked from activating because it can't reach appropriate KMS host (Server computer) which handles the activation request. They also expire every 180 days if they are not able to contact the central server.

It appears the activation is being managed by your organization, so I suggest you contact your system administrator for further assistance.

Yup, its a Windows 10 Pro Volume License KMS client. You need to purchase a genuine license.

Whoever installed it, might have installed a volume license (organization key) on your computer.

Hello Jayd8,

Just to verify, can you check the status of Windows activation on your new laptop via Systems? Press the Windows key + Pause Break key to launch the System window. Under Windows activation, tell us what you see there so we can further assess the issue.

If your brand new laptop came with Windows 10, the product key should be preinstalled on your device, included with the device packaging, or included as a card or on the Certificate of Authenticity (COA) attached to the device. More information can be found on this link.

We'll keep an eye out to your response.
